RAP5k Goes Virtual

As we’ve worked throughout the COVID pandemic to do what is best for the safety of our community, we rescheduled the 10th Annual Race Against Poverty, originally scheduled for June 5, to August 29 in the hopes of being able to come together in person for this extraordinary community event.

In communication with local authorities, event sponsors, and in effort to meet regulations and guidelines from the Pennsylvania Department of Health it has become clear that we need to transition to a virtual event. Unfortunately our local cases has begun to increase again, and so we still do not know when we may be able to hold a community event of this size.

Our community, state, and country has been enduring a health and economic crisis unlike any other seen by this generation, and SCCAP is working hard to adapt quickly and meet the ever increasing needs to stabilize families in crisis, and help them rebuild long term stability. Knowing the harsh reality of how this is impacting families, SCCAP hoped to be able to hold this critical fundraiser as a community event, and now as we have to transition to a virtual event we will need your help more than ever in rallying the community to join us in making a greater impact for families who have been hit the hardest.

Registration is now open and sponsorships opportunities available!  We can still race against poverty, but it will look and feel a little different.

In the coming days, the 10th Annual Race Against Poverty 5K will be announcing exciting registration packet information, prizes and awards for top participant fundraising, as well as additional information.  We want to be good neighbors and do our part in working to keep everyone safe. We thank you for your understanding and commitment to our mission in times when it is needed most, and look forward to making this a fun and creative experience as a virtual event.
